Just Us Thinking

Debra and I were talking about what we were going to write about for our "Just Us Thinking" column. We discussed several ideas and then she had to go and run a couple of errands. A light bulb went off in my head and I thought since Debra, Teri and I are all unique in our own ways I want to ask them -- If you could live in any country - in any time period -- which one would you choose? Since I love to read Regency -- I would love to be a member of the ton -- married to a ex-rake! LOL Then I started thinking -- no phones, no air conditioning, no modern conveniences -- ummm. Would I be able to go back into time -- having to wear a corset, sleeves on all my clothes, gloves and a hat all the time. Ride a horse? Be well behave? No swearing? Be on my best behavior????? Okay Ladies -- if you could go back into time -- what time period would you pick?

There are so many times I would love to live in. The only thing is I would have to be well off, I don;t want to be poor. I just could not pin down one time peiord.

Well Dani, I could go for riding a horse! But, being well behaved, no swearing and a corset would do me in. I could not be poor either.

You asked any country, any time period - so since I don't want to go back, I would go forward to the year 2060, where Eve Dallas and Roarke live. Everyone who knows me realizes sooner or later that I hate to cook, so my dream of an auto chef would come in handy! Plus I would love to go to one of Roarke's off planet resorts. And have a holo room of my own too.

I agree with meeting the ex-rake. A James Mallory (Johanna Lindsey) or his brother Anthony would make me swoon. Ahhh....then reality kicks in, No Target, fast cars, and computers. I guess if we could pick I would choose another realm entirely where hot sexy vampires lived and werewolves that make you droll. There is enough magic in those realms that would get me anything I need. Of course if I had Kresely Cole Bowe I would probably not leave our den!

Emily, I love the Mallorys! Have you read When Passion Rules yet?

Hi Danielle,

I have not gotten to read her latest yet. It is the only one I have not read. I was really happy to see the cover was back to the old fashion way. I enjoy using my imagination but I really liked her covers before she switched them just to the name.

Danielle, like you I would like to go back to the Regency time period. Because I would miss my conveniences, I only want to go back for one night and go to a big ball with the rest of the Ton.

Nancy, I'm going with you for that one night at the ball! In fact, I think we should all go! Those are my favorite parts of historical romance books. And lots of those places are still around today, in one form or another in London. **big sigh**

Teri, I'm hoping to go to London someday. Wouldn't it be great to walk around Mayfair and picture it like it used to be?
